Today we had to change our filming plan, because my house is currently off limits, due to the fact that my dad just got out of hospital, now we plan to film at Michael's house instead. later in the day we hit a large issue when we got to Michael's home, there was no key, we had to go around the neighborhood looking for a key, at his relatives home's, we later got a key and went inside, to film e a scene of a door slamming, looking back at that footage we noticed a painting on the wall almost fall out of the frame. after 4 takes from different angles we finally got a good shot, that showed you what was going on clearly, with the flying painting included, i was acting through the whole film, and was the only person in shot for 90% of it. we then went across cambridge to go under a bridge to film a scene that shows me (the main character) as being alone, vulnerable, lonely. we had a handheld shot of the camera panning around, but we ended up almost scrapping that shot, then i had the idea to speed it up and reposition the soundtrack (Thankyou BlackMesaSource team for the music), but sadly the song wasn't long enough to fit the whole video, so after a little bit of editing we managed to loop the track smoothly, we edited the original shot of the locker saying "emo" "fag" etc, to hold each shot for a second or two, with different angles to emphasize the shots, when i tore down the paper, I let the door slowly shut instead of opening it, slowly as the screen faded hinted towards the fact that what was going on was sad, depressing. during the ending scene with the door knocking scene, i noticed that when i was knocking on the door it looked more like i was rocking back and forth.

Day two of ULVF

Hello, Today our work got a bit out of hand when our filming schedule changed, we where going to go to impington at 12:00 but we have to delay that to next week because we need permission to film there, we are also going to (instead of IVC) go to my home and film the "slamming door" scene, then cross the road into a park and film the scene in which the folder gets thrown into a bush. This morning we talked about refilming a scene we recorded last week, because of a spelling error on the sign (my personal error), as we where refilming we got 3 cuts at different angles, they arent very good, so we may be refilming it again, or changing it to a phone call to child line, we then Retook the 3 cuts and ended up recording around 4 extras, a panning shot of the text on the sign, a shot of me knocking on the door, i personally am just acting this lesson, and i drew one of the signs as a example for next week when we film the locker scene, we had to make a big decision WHO stays, seeing as our transport only has 3 seats, and we have a group of 4. we have come to the conclusion that next week we will get a taxi to our locations.
We looked at some examples of public information films in our spare time, and we learnt a large amount of filming techniques that we are going to use in our next session next week.

we had to redo the whole filming plan ever-since we had a issue with the transportation, but we resolved that with taxis (as you may see above) so we have a new filming plan all setup, we wrote our risk assessments and then end
ed up not going. we had lots of photos taken, that we are going to upload soon, i only have a few, but our group in total has alot. but we had to cut the day in half, and replace the half that we planned to film in, with blogging and editing, We also changed the font, to something a bit "nicer" because the default are overused, and we wanted to step away from the norm, tonight i will be looking for music to use in our video (thanks to my friend Renard owner of Lapfoxtrax/VlupVibe Records) who is writing a song for us to use, i plan to edit some extra stuff myself at home, that i can just drop into the film at a later date

Still too short, Robert! How long did you spend on this? Did you look at the helpsheet that I gave you last week?

Ultimate lazer victory force Brief

This morning we talked to Derek about our plan for our movie for the Youthoria Project, he didn't give us much feedback other than keeping safe around the river that we would film by, but we did take that into account, so now we are being careful with where we film, and sure to ask anybody who walks past not to cut in front of us and for permission to film them as they pass. the image to the left is where we plan to film a scene in wich character "emo" walks under and sits down to write in his diary.

You made a good startto this blog, Robert, but you should be writing in a lot more detail than this about each session, and about what you've had to think about. You need to reflect on the decisions that you've made, and why. This will be very important if you are to get the sort of grade that you are able to get.
